Violist Stephanie Fong is a native of Oakland, California.  She enjoys a versatile career as an orchestral musician, music educator, and chamber music performer.  In addition to regular appearances with the San Francisco Symphony and Boston Symphony Orchestra, Stephanie has served on the chamber music faculty at the University of Michigan School of Music, the Innsbrook Institute Summer Music Academy, and the Peaks to Plains Suzuki Institute.  She recently returned from a string quartet tour of New Zealand and Australia with the Enso String Quartet in the fall of 2012.  Stephanie has performed as a member of the Alianza String Quartet, the Phoenix String Quartet, and was a top-prize winner at the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition with the Kailas String Quartet.  She has performed at a number of festivals including the Monadnock Festival, Aspen Music School and Festival, Tanglewood Music Center, and Yellow Barn Music School and Festival.  Stephanie holds degrees from the New England Conservatory of Music and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where her principal teachers were Martha Strongin Katz and Ian Swensen.
